The Reading Buccaneers remain undefeated as they swept all captions tonight in Robbinsville and have their sights on regaining the DCA title. Powerful in all sections, the Bucs horn line will blow you away while the percussion section with their stick handling is something to watch. Reading is taking no prisoners in their path on the way to Annapolis.
The Connecticut Hurricanes definitely have the Olympic spirit this year with their all British music program. The addition of new members to the horn line will definitely help as the Hurcs horn line is starting to gel at the right time. Pay close attention to the percussion feature as it is entertaining and highly visual. The Hurricanes are improving and coming on strong.
The most improved corps this evening had to be Fusion Core as they gained eight points in total score as their gangster style show is looking for new victims. The horn line has added a killing at the end of their show as a new mobster kingpin takes over. Nicole Marino made her debut as drum major tonight and did a very fine job in leading her corps. Watch this show closely over the next few weeks as this is definitely a fan friendly program.
Carolina Gold show no evidence of fatigue from their long bus trip from North Carolina as the corps placed a strong third in color guard and percussion. Their show "Out of the Shadows", is very dark in nature but very bright in their presentation to the fans. Carolina should be well in contention for the Class A title with some more polish and cleaning.
Jumping five points in score from last week in Lynn, our hosts the Windsor Regiment has finally put all the pieces together and are gaining much confidence and momentum. The color guard in the ballad definitely sells "Hallelujah" with their mini harp props and their role portrayal as angels. A high place finish at Class A finals is definitely in their reach.
The Sunrisers are performing to the best of their ability and still have a great desire to compete and succeed. The crowd enjoyed their entertaining show this evening for sure.
The Reilly Raiders gave a nice post competition exhibition with their salute to the drum corps activity and to the great drum corps of the past with their musical selections. A drum majors only retreat followed luckily as a severe thunderstorm with large hail hit the area as soon as the show ended. A very nice first show as hosts for Windsor Regiment and to all the corps in competition for a show well done.
